As a young woman growing up within today’s society have you ever felt misunderstood by everyone around you? Do you find yourself always having those lingering thoughts of “Who am I?” or “Why do I always feel stuck in my thoughts?” or “What is holding me back from achieving my goals?”. Yeah I know that feeling very well! The Beautifully Misconstrued brand is more than just your typical black girl blog! It’s an open diary of thoughts and experiences that I have about dating, friendships, unhealthy family bonds, breaking generational curses, colorism, the toxicity of social media, challenges of growing into adulthood, the pros and cons of higher education, spirituality/religion, and so many more!

The Beautifully Misconstrued is comprised of the seven mindfulness principles which are: Non-judging, Patience, Beginner’s mind, trust, non-striving, acceptance, and letting go. The overall goal of the Beautifully Misconstrued brand is to provide a secure and truthful space for all individuals without being ridiculed! In the world that we live in everything is viewed as being “black and white” where women may find themselves believing that they have to conform to social’s irrational standards to be accepted. However, the Beautifully Misconstrued blog is designed to empower young women to overcome the fear of not being accepted or being misguided by the world’s politics.
